Volunteer
Policy

Volunteers attend an informal observation visit and interview
where information on Cambridge Online and volunteer
opportunities are given; An application form is completed, and
an Enhanced CRB check initiated.

Cambridge Online staff are responsible for training, support and
supervision for volunteers. Volunteers will be given
Guidelines and a Task Description. Volunteers are responsible
to the Chief Executive, the Project Administrator or the Project
Worker, depending on the volunteer tasks undertaken.

Days and hours of work will be agreed between the supervisor and
individual volunteers.

Volunteers are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions on
Cambridge Online projects.

Volunteers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality
of all privileged information to which they are exposed while
serving as a volunteer, whether this information involves a
single member of staff, volunteer, learner or other person, and
including information relating to the overall business of the
organisation.

Cambridge Online offers travelling, child care, and out of
pocket expenses to volunteers. Expenses must be approved prior
to the costs being incurred.

Volunteers
are covered by insurance held by Cambridge Online for Public
Liability and Employers’ Liability

Volunteer and staff training / networking events are normally
held at least twice a year.

Volunteers
from all backgrounds are actively encouraged to join and monitoring
is carried out.
